Gov. Blunt Announces New Internet Access for Administrative Hearing Commission Cases
Missouri Governor Matt Blunt's Office Press Release
JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Matt Blunt and the Administrative Hearing Commission (AHC) today announced the launch of a new public Internet site that will provide Missourians' online access to AHC cases. "Over the last three and a half years my administration has created a more open and accountable state government for Missouri taxpayers and one of the ways we have achieved this is by leaving the old way behind and using technology to bring state government services into the 21st Century," Gov. Blunt said. "This Internet site is another example of how we are providing Missourians with important and easy-to-access information. Now Missourians will have easier access to information pertaining to cases that come before the Administrative Hearing Commission." "We are excited to introduce this new Internet access to the public. This site will allow access to our case information to anyone with access to a computer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have worked hard to produce and refine this Internet site to make it convenient and to improve customer service by taking advantage of technology to better serve the citizens of Missouri. It will enhance our efficiency as well as those who seek this information," said John Kopp, presiding commissioner of Administrative Hearing Commission. This technology will provide Missourians the ability to view cases that are filed with the AHC. The site is organized into four search categories: Case Number, Case Name, Case Status, or Case Type. The cases available online date to those closed since 1990. Once the case results are in view, the user can scroll through the following case details:
The AHC also has the ability to scan documents to a case so online users can click and view case-related correspondence and documents. To access the AHC Internet site visit http://oa.mo.gov/ahc/ where there is also a link to search decisions issued by the AHC since January 2000. Gov. Blunt has been a national leader in using technology to make government more accountable to the people. The governor created the Missouri Accountability Portal (MAP) to ensure that Missourians have access to information pertaining to how state government is spending their tax dollars. The MAP site is one of the first comprehensive databases of financial records based on real-time data in the nation and has earned significant praise from the watchdog group Americans for Tax Reform. Gov. Blunt's MAP site is updated at the close of each business day to provide up-to-date access to information about state spending. Anyone can search the MAP site by budget category, vendor or contract. Links to other public information maintained by the state are also available on the MAP site. The MAP expenditure site has also been enhanced to allow Missourians to review state expenditures by state agency and information regarding tax credits administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development since tax credit application year 2000. The site also provides easy-to-access, real time information on state employee salaries.
